Auction items and table sponsors are sought for the annual New Vocations Pre-Jug Party and Charity Auction held Sept. 18 at the Delaware County Fair.
The proceeds go to rehab, retrain and re-home retired Standardbreds and the Delaware County Fair. This gala event is held in the Hospitality Pavilion in the first turn following the Jugette card. Attendees will enjoy gourmet hors d’oeurves, an open bar, live music, and shopping the charity auction, which is also held online.
“We’re asking owners, breeders, trainers, drivers, racetracks and those that benefit from racing to please support this important fundraiser,” said New Vocations executive director Dot Morgan. “Vacations, experiences, equine services, entertainment tickets, jewelry, memorabilia and tack, as well as home and barn accessories, are being sought to help make this event a success.”
Table sponsors are also needed and a good option in lieu of merchandise or services. Show your support by sponsoring a table in your name, your stable, your farm, or the name of a favourite horse. Seating is open, but signs on the tables recognize the sponsors. Sponsor a table for $400 and receive tickets for six people; co-sponsors for $200 receive two tickets.
“New Vocations is totally dependent on donations to rehabilitate, retrain, and re-home hundreds of retired racehorses each year,” said Morgan. “Participating in this event is a fun and easy way to give back to the horses we all love.”
