Following a two-week post-Adios hiatus, The Meadows Racetrack & Casino resumes live racing Monday, August 16, kicking off a rich late summer/fall schedule that

features 28 stakes.

This segment of the track’s stakes season begins in earnest Monday with a $298,556 Pennsylvania Sires Stake for two-year-old colt and gelding pacers — including the undefeated Wink N Atcha, who looks to extend his winning streak to five for trainer George Teague, Jr. On Tuesday, freshman colt and gelding pacers again will be in the spotlight in a $180,000 Pennsylvania Stallion Series event that has attracted 72 horses over nine divisions.

The Meadows will offer five live cards per week through the remainder of August and the first, partial week in September with the exception of Tuesday, August 31, when no live racing will be offered. Post time each Monday, Tuesday, Friday and Saturday is 12:55 p.m. while Wednesday cards kick off at 6:55 p.m.

Highlighting the late summer/fall season is the “Day of Champions” on Saturday, September 4, when The Meadows will host all four Pennsylvania Sires Stakes Championships for three-year-olds as well as a consolation for each of those divisions. Total PASS purses that day are projected at $920,000.

In addition, on, Saturday, October 16, The Meadows is the site for Pennsylvania Fairs Championships in all eight divisions for two- and three-year-olds. First post September 4 and October 16 is 12:55 p.m.
