Statement From Bruce Trogdon

On Friday, owner Bruce Trogdon issued a statement to Jeff Gural and the Meadowlands regarding his out-of-competition stabling and testing rules for the track's stakes program.

Trogdon's initial comments on Tuesday spurred much discussion and also prompted a public reply from Gural. The statement issued Friday from Trogdon appears below.

Last week I felt it necessary to speak out against the 150 mile rule for the Meadowlands Pace. I said what I felt needed to be said but also want to go on record that I am looking forward to watching The Pace and think it will be a very exciting race even without my horse Fear The Dragon.

While I would like to see Jeff Gural fix inequities and hardship for non-local horses in the rule for the future, I wish nothing but the best for his efforts to save the Meadowlands, which is so key to our sport. I wholeheartedly support his good intentions to keep potential cheating out of such a prestigious race.
