The 2026 Ohio Selected Jug Yearling Sale takes place Friday, Sept. 18 and the catalogue is now available for viewing and download from the Ohio Harness Horse Breeders website.
The sale features 280 of some of the finest yearlings bred in Ohio and this year’s group is represented by large contingents from stallions such as Branded By Lindy, Catch The Fire, Downbytheseaside, In Range, Long Tom, Lous Pearlman, Monte Miki, Pebble Beach, Ready For Moni, Summa Cum Laude, Volstead among others.
As in past seasons, the annual ‘show day’ is one day prior — Thursday, Sept. 17 and the floors and aisles of the barns will be busy as the handlers and prospective purchasers fill the shed rows.
While the sale is conducted by the Lexington Selected Yearling Sales Co., the auction is owned by the Ohio Harness Horse Breeders, a group of local nurseries that send some of their best and brightest horses to this sale each autumn.
In addition to a vast group of ‘first foals’ from the mares represented, many of this year’s offerings are brothers or sisters to world champions. Graduates of this sale are at the top, or near the top of every division of the Ohio Sire Stakes standings for two- and three-year-old trotters and pacers. The full catalogue is available here.
