The Pick 5 sequence went uncovered on opening night at the Red Mile, thus leaving a $1,722 carryover into the track’s Thursday night (July 28) program of live racing.
Track officials, in conjunction with the USTA’s Strategic Wagering Program, have placed an instant guarantee of $7,500 on Thursday night’s total Pick 5 pool.
The Pick 5 takeout was reduced to 15 per cent for the 2016 season, and it is a nightly wager covering Races 2 – 6 and features a 50-cent minimum.
The Red Mile and USTA Strategic Wagering Program are also pleased to announce that the Pick 4 will begin to feature a $5,000 guaranteed pool on every single live race night beginning this Sunday (August 4). The Pick 4 is a nightly wager covering Races 7 – 10 and features a one-dollar minimum.
Live racing continues at the Red Mile three-nights per week, with a first post of 7 p.m. every Thursday, Saturday, and Sunday evening. Kentucky Sire Stakes racing will be held on Sunday, August 7, and Sunday, August 14, with the $1.4 million ‘Night of Champions’ to be held on Sunday, August 21.
