Longtime Standardbred horseman Michael Taub, 66, of Boynton Beach, Florida, passed away on Saturday, July 25, 2020. Taub had been struggling with health issues for the past seven months.
Taub was a successful trainer for nearly 50 years -- it was his entire world. Originally from Middletown, NY, Taub raced and won numerous races at all east coast tracks. A regular at the Meadowlands Racetrack from its opening in 1976, Taub's favourite horses were Fixed Assets, Franco Catapult N, Decafe, Ribb and many others.
He stabled in New Jersey for many years and his friends always referred to him as a great guy with a grand smile who always was willing to help others. He will be missed by all.
Taub is survived by his sisters, Lisa Bernstein and Susan Taub Hughes; nieces and nephew, Julie, Robert, Kaylie Hughes and Abbe Hughes; and grand-nephew, Antonio. He was preceded in death by his parents, Martyn and Ida.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Standardbred Retirement Foundation.
