Running Aces Requesting Six Dates

Published: July 25, 2011 02:25 pm EDT

Officials with Running Aces have announced that the track will be requesting to add six race dates to replace the 12 days lost during the government shutdown

.

The dates requested are August 28, 30, 31 and September 3, 4, with a special 'Showcase of Minnesota-bred races' on Labour Day, September 5.

“We feel that our racing offers a fun and unique setting that can compete with the best summer activities this area has to offer,” said Aaron Bedessem, director of Marketing at Running Aces. “You can watch the races for free, eat an inexpensive meal, and have a cold beer outside, what is better for a Minnesota Summer evening.”

The new race dates will have first-race post times at 7:00 p.m. with the exception of the Labour Day races, which will start at 5:00 p.m.
