The Meadowlands Racetrack has announced it will proudly host ‘Cat Manzi Night’ Friday, July 25. The evening will honour one of the greatest careers in harness racing history.
Manzi, a winner of 14,812 races, placing him fourth all-time will spend his evening along with upwards of forty of his closest friends and family at The Meadowlands on Friday.
Manzi’s night will begin with an appearance ‘In The Sulky’, on The Meadowlands in-house and simulcast pre-game show at 6:45 p.m. A video will then air paying tribute to Manzi’s career at The Meadowlands, including many of his greatest moments in the bike. From there, Manzi will sign autographs for his fans from 7:00 p.m. until 7:30 p.m. Additionally, the ‘Cat Man’ will make the winner’s circle presentation for Friday’s Free For All Handicap Trot in Race 6.
Manzi along with his family and friends will spend the evening enjoying the racing from one of The Meadowlands Skybox Suites. The event is being sponsored by Jeff Gural’s Allerage Farm.
“Catello Manzi has had one of the greatest careers in the sport of harness racing,” said Meadowlands Chairman Jeff Gural. “Honouring that career is the least we can do at The Meadowlands, given how much of that career was spent right here. We are very much looking forward to the evening and seeing the fans give the Cat Man a night to remember as well.”
