Hanover Raceway will host eliminations for the 14th annual Dream Of Glory Trot this Saturday evening, and the elimination round features four of the top 10 colt trotters from the OSS Gold Series and three of the top four filly trotters from the Grassroots.

Local hopeful Renegade Magic is the 8-5 morning line favourite in the first $12,000 elimination for Jeff and Lori Thomson of Chesley, ON. The daughter of Kadabra-Renegade Ruby posted a two-length triumph in a recent OSS Grassroots division at Georgian Downs. Mike Saftic is listed to drive the Ted MacDonnell trainee from Post 1.

It won’t be easy, however, thanks to the presence of Eternal Quest. The son of Pilgrims Taj-Eternal Spirit goes into his elimination assignment following a 1:58.1 triumph over Grand River Raceway’s half-mile oval in a $70,000 OSS Gold Series division for trainer Chad Milner. Scott Coulter is listed to drive the gelding from Post 6.

Hemi Seelster headlines the second elimination for trainer John Bax and driver Steve Byron. The upset winner in this year’s $233,000 Goodtimes Stake at Mohawk Racetrack will depart from Post 4 looking to add to his $186,000 bankroll. The gelding is the morning line favourite at odds of 2-1.

Meadow Seelster crushed the foes she faced in a recent $18,000 OSS Grassroots division at Georgian Downs, and she’ll look to keep the ball rolling in the third elimination for trainer Bill Budd. Listed at odds of 6-5 in the morning line, the daughter of Holiday Road-Must Sold Dream has constructed a 2-4-0 record from nine starts this season. Steve Byron gets to work from Post 1 with the career winner of $113,885.

The final elimination appears to be a wide-open tilt on paper, with Its Huw You Know listed as the 8-5 favourite for trainer/driver Keith Jones. The three-time winner posted back-to-back OSS wins before finishing fourth after a tough trip in his latest assignment at Kawartha Downs versus OSS foes. The son of Holiday Road-Lukes Elvira is scheduled to start from Post 2.

The top two finishers from each of Saturday’s four eliminations will return to Hanover Raceway for the $75,100 Dream Of Glory Final on Saturday, August 1

That night will also feature a live band, BBQ, and fireworks after the races.
