Mantario turned in one of the biggest performances of Governor’s Plate night and will try to replicate that magic Sunday afternoon at Red Shores at the Summerside Raceway.

The Sunday card kicks off at 1:00 p.m., with Mantario pegged for the top spot in the $2,600 finale in Race 12. Alex Sobey will drive his own trainee from post seven in the absence of regular driver Kenny Arsenault, who will be competing in stakes action in Nova Scotia. Owned by Walter Simmons of Summerside, Mantario was a winner in 1:54.3 in his latest but will have to overcome post seven to find the winner’s circle Sunday afternoon. Woodmere Ideal Art was second to him in that latest race and will retain the series of Norris Rogers from post six on Sunday.

The rail belongs to Red Magician, fresh off a third-place finish to Mantario on 'Plate' night, with Adam Merner at the lines for trainer Melissa Rennie. Completing the field are Twice As Bright (Ken Murphy), Mando Fun (Corey MacPherson), Pictonian Storm (Myles Heffernan Sr.), Midnight Matt (Jason Hughes) and City Of The Year (Dr. Mitchell Downey).

Medici Hanover rides a two-race win streak into the eighth race and gets the good fortune of drawing post one. The co-track record holder for three-year-old pacing fillies at Summerside, Medici Hanover is trained by Don Milligan for owners Kent Williams of Ellerslie, Andrew Williams of Richmond and Lyndon Hardy of Coleman.

The back-up pace hits the track in the tenth race with $2,300 in purse money at stake. Morning line favourite Dangle Ona Dime has an impressive array of five straight top-two finishes coming into the event and draws post two for driver MacPherson and trainer Duane MacEachern. Other top entries include Union Man Hanover (Downey) and Brandons Glory (John Davidson).

Red Shores, Standardbred Canada and Prince County Horsemen’s Club is proud to support National Caretaker Appreciation Day on the program with special videos, prize giveaways and presentations.

Standardbred groom Jansen Sweet will be special guest on the Inside Track with host Rocky Schurman Sunday at 12:35 p.m. The interview segment will be broadcast on the Red Shores TV network.
