Adios Week, the annual extravaganza of world-class harness racing and family fun at The Meadows, is set to get underway.
This year, Adios Week will celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Delvin Miller Adios ‘Pace for the Orchids.’ The stakes event will kick off with eliminations on Saturday afternoon (July 23). The final of the $500,000 (estimated) Adios, a showcase and proving ground for the sport’s best three-year-old pacers, is scheduled to take place during the afternoon of Saturday, July 30.
Between those two anchors, The Meadows and the Meadows Standardbred Owners Association will provide a rich variety of musical entertainment, food and beverage specials, giveaways and contests designed for veteran fans as well as those new to the sport.
Throughout Adios Week, fans will enjoy video presentations and live interviews highlighting 50 years of the Pace for the Orchids, including rare footage of the late Delvin Miller, who founded The Meadows and the Adios, and named the race for his foundation sire.
