Officials with Tioga Downs have extended an invitation to all horsepeople and owners participating at the track to join them in the annual horsemen’s golf outing, which will take place on Saturday, August 9.
The golf outing will be contested in the four-person scramble format and will take place at Pheasant Hills in Owego, New York with an 8 a.m. shotgun start. A steak dinner and prize ceremony at the course will follow the golf outing. The tournament is free for all horsemen and owners. Tioga officials hope that horsepeople and owners will make plans to join them for golf, and also on Sunday afternoon (August 10) for racing at 1:30 p.m. The Sunday card will feature divisions of the New York Sire Stakes for two-year-old pacers, and the final for the $250,000 (estimated) Empire Breeders Classic, which will feature the top three-year-old pacing colts and fillies sired in New York.
