The red-hot action shifts back to the Capital on Thursday evening (July 15) as Ms Moyse is picked to be the boss in the featured pace at Red Shores Racetrack and Casino at the Charlottetown Driving Park.

The city track has a 12-dash card planned for a 6 p.m. (ADT) opening post time with the Fillies and Mares Preferred 2 pace aligning in Race 11 for a $2,600 pot.

Ms Moyse is the morning-line favourite in the full field of eight with Adam Merner in the race bike for trainer Melissa Rennie and owners Olivia May, Quaid Hately and Andrew Cameron. The four-year-old daughter of Rollwithitharry is named after Olympic Gold Medalist and Island native Heather Moyse, with the four-legged athlete showing a trio of first-place finishes herself this season. Ms Moyse has slammed together eight top-three finishes this year including a lifetime best winning performance of 1:56.2 on July 5 at Red Shores Summerside. Top Of Her Trade (To be driven by Mark Bradley) has post 7 in the field after winning her last two starts for trainer Todd Walsh. Rail control belongs to Miss Kabana (Brodie MacPhee) from the Gary Poulton barn as third choice in the race.

Peter MacPhee will lean on Ms Moyse as the top entrant for his Post Time Picks. “Ms Moyse has put together a tidy season so far with three wins and a record of 1:56.2. We’re thinking Adam will be aggressive off the wings and if she does clear to the front could go right down the road.”

Also in the featured field are Traces Of Purple (Jason Hughes), Tell Me Why (Corey MacPherson), Thebossisagirl (Gilles Barrieau), Better Be In Love (Ken Murphy) and The Time To Win (Marc Campbell).

The Open Trot lines up in Race 9 for a $2,700 pot. The compact field of five has Daisy River riding into the class on a three-race win streak from post 5 with Hughes in the bike for owner-trainer William Lanigan of Montague. The champion daughter of Nikes Image will take on four foes including the return of Majian Tango from post 1 for trainer-driver Jim Ripley of Amherst, N.S. Glider Man was a runner-up to Daisy River is last week’s $3,000 Andrew Perry Memorial trot and will have post 4 on Thursday with Kenny Arsenault at the lines.

Catch the action live at the track or watch the worldwide broadcast at Redshores.ca or on the Red Shores YouTube channel. Onsite wagering is available starting at 12 P.M. on race day at Red Shores locations or at HPIBet.com.
