Officials with Hawthorne Race Course have announced that the track will offer a $30,000 guaranteed pool on tonight’s (Thursday, July 14) Late Pick 5.
The popular 50-cent minimum wager was not hit Sunday night, so a carryover pool of $7,890 will be added to tonight’s action.
The Late Pick 5 will entail Race 6 through Race 10 on tonight’s 10-race card, which will kick off at 7:35 p.m. (Central).
Additionally, as is the case every Thursday at Hawthorne, the 50-cent Late Pick 4 will have a guaranteed pool of $15,000. Both the Pick 4 and Pick 5 wagers have a low takeout rate of 15 per cent.
The 10-race Thursday card includes eight full fields with the remaining two races with nine-horse fields. A pair of co-features are scheduled to take place, as three-year-old colt and gelding trotters will compete in the $21,700 Cardinal final (Race 6). Three-year-old female trotters will take to the track in Race 8 for the $20,100 Violet final.
