On July 5, 2010, the director of the Ontario Racing Commission issued Notices of Decision in regard to applications for changes from the Fort Erie Live Racing Consortium, Flamboro Downs and Rideau

Carleton Raceway.

Fort Erie Live Racing Consortium

The ORC has approved an application from Fort Erie Live Racing Consortium to change the first-race post times for Tuesdays in August from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.

The director’s approval is conditional upon receiving a report from the applicant evaluating the 2010 experience. Submission had been received from another Ontario simulcasting racetrack who expressed concern that the Fort Erie experiment would negatively impact their time slot. The director has asked this party to evaluate the impacts of the post time change on their own product and provide a report.

Flamboro Downs

The ORC has approved an application from Great Canadian Gaming Corporation to change a September first-race post time at Flamboro. Having circulated the application to the horsepeople and the CPMA, the director approved the request to change the first-race post time for Saturday September 11 from 1:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.

Rideau Carleton Raceway

The ORC has approved an application from Rideau Carleton Raceway to reschedule two dates in August in order to accommodate a major music event.

After carefully reviewing the submission, as well as various public submissions received during the public circulation of the application, the director agreed to the request to cancel Thursday, August 5 and Friday, August 6, and add Monday, August 9 and Monday, August 16 with first-race post times of 6:30 p.m.
