Hanover Raceway would like to remind all horsepeople that the entry deadline for its Saugeen Claiming Series is quickly approaching
. An entry fee of $300/horse must be mailed to Hanover’s race office Wednesday, July 15.
The Saugeen Claiming Series is for Ontario-sired pacers who are non-winners of $75,000 lifetime as of midnight May 1, 2009 (no allowances). Horses will race for claiming prices of $10,000 (plus allowances).
Two preliminary legs, each worth $12,000/division, will be followed by a $20,000 (added) final. All entry fees will be added to the finals. A minimum of 24 separate betting interests must be received, or the event may be cancelled at the discretion of the race secretary.
The preliminary legs for the fillies and mares will take place on Wednesday, August 5 and Wednesday, August 12 followed by the final on Saturday, August 22. The preliminary legs for the colts and geldings will take place on Wednesday, August 19 and Wesdnesday, August 26 with the final on Saturday, September 5.
