Meridian Farms and Truro Raceway have announced they’ve joined forces for a unique event called ‘Cheering for Charity’.
Meridian Farms’ sponsored horse, Barona Lilac, a five-year-old bay mare by Ameripan Gigolo who races under the care of Team Crowe and is trained by Darren Crowe stabled at Truro Raceway, will race for charity. Each month, the horse’s earnings - up to $1,000 - will be donated to the allotted charity of that month.
In May, Barona Lilac's earnings went to Harness the Cure – a Relay for Life team. For the month of June, Barona Lilac and Crowe will race for Maggie's Place - a family resource centre in Truro.
Follow Barona Lilac and her charities to see how she is doing. Barona Lilac will be very active within her charity groups, so keep an eye on the ‘Cheering for Charity’ Facebook page to see what her and her team are up to.
