Gary Jones claimed the Player’s Competition: Tournament Edition handicapping challenge which was held at PEI racetracks during the month of May
. The grand prize was a trip for two to the Pepsi North America Cup.
The tournament was held at Red Shores Racetrack & Casino at the Charlottetown Driving Park and Red Shores at Summerside Raceway. The locations offered players the opportunity to enter the contest with the winner being determined by collecting the most earnings at the end of the four weeks of competition play.
Jones, who is an HPI member, also won the $250 deposit offered to contestants by Horse Player Interactive.
The handicapping champion receives airfare, hotel and dinner at Mohawk Racetrack when the best three-year-old colts compete for $1.5 million on Saturday June 26.
Customers are now enjoying the $25,000 Big Spin Big Win contest with weekly winners being announced beginning June 12, 2010. This promotion is offered to racing, dining and gaming customers on PEI.
Details will be released soon on qualifying sessions for the annual Trot Canada National Handicapping Championship. Island tracks have secured three qualifying sessions for patrons.
