After delaying post time earlier in the day, Woodbine Entertainment has announced the cancellation of the Friday, June 6 card of live harness racing at Woodbine Mohawk Park due to poor air quality.
Environment Canada’s air quality index for Milton/Campbellville, Ont. is listed as ‘High Risk’ and is expected to remain at that level for a large portion of Friday evening.
Woodbine’s decision to cancel comes through consultation with Central Ontario Standardbred Association (COSA) and the Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario (AGCO) and is consistent with the AGCO’s air quality guidelines. Woodbine stated this cancellation has been made in the best interests of the health and safety of the horses and racing participants.
The Armbro Flight and Goodtimes Stakes eliminations, originally scheduled for Friday, will now take place on Saturday, June 7 at 4 p.m. The eliminations will be contested as originally drawn and will be held in the order they were originally carded. The race order and post times are listed below.
- Race 1: Armbro Flight Elim #1 – 4 p.m.
- Race 2: Goodtimes Elim #1 – 4:20 p.m.
- Race 3: Armbro Flight Elim #2 – 4:40 p.m.
- Race 4: Goodtimes Elim #2 – 5 p.m.
Wagering will be offered on the four races as part of an early betting card ahead of Saturday night’s 13-race card, which has a post time of 6:35 p.m.
Mohawk's grandstand will be open all day on Saturday for simulcast and live racing. The Woodbine Standardbred simulcast will be on the air at 3:30 p.m.
