The Delaware County Fair announced Tuesday that Winbak Farm has committed to sponsor the $150,000 (est.) Old Oaken Bucket for three-year-old colt trotters during the 2015 Delaware Grand Circuit Meet.

Founded in 1991 by Joe and JoAnn Thomson, Winbak Farm is one of North America’s largest horse farms, standing 37 stallions at 5 different locations. Winbak Canada is home of the 2001 LBJ Champion, Bettors Delight, and the 2008 Jug winner, Shadow Play.

The Old Oaken Bucket announcement starts a busy week for Joe Thomson. On Sunday, July 5, Thomson will be enshrined into the Harness Racing Hall of Fame in Goshen, NY.

The Old Oaken Bucket presented by Winbak Farm has an impressive roster of winners, including Mack Lobell, American Winner, Sierra Kosmos, Chip Chip Hooray and Speedy Crown. The 2014 edition of the $118,300 Old Oaken Bucket was captured by Sumatra and driver Brian Sears.

“It is great to have Winbak Farm associated with the Delaware County Fair,” noted Phil Terry, Director of Sponsorships. “Winbak Farm has been a tremendous supporter of our racing program and is dedicated to the future of our sport.”

The Old Oaken Bucket presented by Winbak Farm will take place on Thursday, September 24, 2015. For Grand Circuit meet and ticket information, please visit www.littlebrownjug.com.
