After a bit of a break, live Standardbred racing from Yonkers Raceway is set to return this coming weekend.
A pair of 10-race cards were drawn for Friday and Saturday evenings (June 7 and 8), with first post the usual 6:50 p.m. Twin $44,000 Open Handicaps, for trotters (Race 6) and pacers (Race 8), highlight the Saturday program
There will be morning draws for the cards of Monday, June 10 (box closes Tuesday, June 4) and Tuesday, June 11 (box closes Thursday, June 6), before the regular late afternoon draw schedule returns Friday, June 7 (card of Thursday, June 13). The morning box will close promptly at 9 a.m.
When racing resumes, there will be a Pick 5 guarantee going into effect. As part of the U.S. Trotting Association’s Strategic Wagering Program and with the approval of the New York State Gaming Commission, a $10,000 guaranteed pool will be available every Monday, Tuesday and Thursday evening – the first night being Monday, June 10.
Should the sequence go ‘unhit,’ the current ‘instant guarantee’ will remain leading to the next racing program.
The Pick 5 is a 50-cent base wager that comprises either Race 6 through 10 (10-race card) or 7 through 11 (more than 10-race card). It has no consolation payoff, hence the shot at an ‘instant guarantee.’
