Officials with Grand River Raceway have cancelled the card of harness racing and qualifying races slated for Wednesday, June 28 at the Elora, Ont. oval.
The cancellation comes in light of the current and forecasted poor air quality in the region as a result of wildfire smoke. In addition to the live racing and qualifiers, Grand River will also close the track for training for Thursday, June 29.
Racing is set to resume at Grand River on Friday, June 30 with Canada Day celebrations.
