Greg Lipinski of Bloomfield, New Jersey captured the top cash prize, plus and a seat in the 2011 National Harness Handicapping Championship, in the second annual Meadowlands/Mohawk Handicapping Challenge on Saturday, June 26.
Lipinski turned his $100 bankroll into $620.50, netting him the $2,700 grand prize in a tightly-run race with William Meisel, who finished just $3 behind him.
The tournament required players to bet a minimum of 10 races from the Meadowlands and Mohawk, including the $1.5 million Pepsi North America Cup, won by Sportswriter. Wagers had to be 'Win' only, on one horse per race and meet a $10 minimum (no maximum).
The Woodbine Entertainment Group will hold a similar handicapping challenge featuring the $1 million Meadowlands Pace on Saturday, July 17. Go to woodbineentertainment.com for more information.
