Three newcomers will be making things interesting in both divisions of the Mark Austin Pacing Series on Sunday (June 27) at Dresden Raceway.
In the first division Shes A Comedian was the runaway winner last week as the three-year-old Hes Watching filly rolled to a 12-length win in 1:58.1 for Alfie Carroll. This week Stiletto Blue Chip will be her stiffest competition, coming in off a win at Georgian Downs in 1:55. The three-year-old American Ideal filly won by open lengths in Hanover two starts ago in 1:58.3. J.R. Plante will be at the controls for Stiletto Blue Chip.
The second division saw Carroll guide three-year-old Shadow Play gelding Shadow Warrior to victory in 2:00 with a wire-to-wire performance. This week Bigmachwithcheese is a threat, boasting a lifetime mark of 1:56.4 taken last year at Charlottetown. The five-year-old Betterthancheddar gelding can clearly navigate a half-mile track and will have the driving services of regular pilot Dale Spence. Sir Lucknow, a three-year-old Sir Luck gelding, is coming off back-to-back wins at Hanover Raceway and looks for factor for Plante.
