Monticello Raceway will add a special racing program on Friday, July 4 which will be the only change to the track’s four-day-a-week July racing schedule.
The July 4 program will begin at 5:30 p.m. Roughly 15 minutes after the completion of the racing program, the track will put on its 45th annual fireworks display. All the other first-race post times in July will be at 12:50 p.m.
The Friday card was added to accommodate the two-year-old pacing fillies in both the New York Sire Stakes and the Excelsior Series.
Additionally, NYSS and Excelsior races will be featured on Tuesday, July 15 and Monday, July 21.
There is free admission to the races and the fireworks display.
