Ocean Downs has announced two major changes to its harness racing programs for Sunday, June 22 and Monday, June 23 due to extreme heat.
First post time for the Sunday card has been pushed back to 7:30 p.m.
"The Lasix vets and technicians have been apprised and will move back their schedule slightly," said Peter Szymanski, Ocean Downs Director of Racing. "We are asking the horsemen to change their schedules accordingly.”
Ocean Downs has cancelled the Monday program with the heat index and humidity expected to intensify over the next few days.
"A decision on Wednesday’s live racing program and qualifiers will be made within the next 48 hours," said Szymanski.
