Neil Alfred Curran passed away peacefully at Broadview Nursing Centre in Smiths Falls, Ont. on Monday, June 19, at the age of 93.
Beloved husband and best friend of Eva Curran (nee McLean) -- they celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary this past November. Loving and devoted father of Sherry Bowers and Laurie (Glenn) Hall. Cherished grandfather of Lisa Swett, Kristina (Brian) Schihl, Shannon (Mark) Wheeler, Jessica (Jamie) Sweet, Scott Cole (Lindsey), Ali (Matt) Parken, and Katie Hall (Sterling). He was a proud great-grandfather to his 12 great-grandchildren and will be fondly remembered by his many nieces, nephews, extended family, and Eva’s entire family.
Neil’s life revolved around his family and his passion for horse racing, and he will be remembered by so many in the harness racing circles and beyond.
The family would like to thank the staff at Broadview Nursing Centre for their care and compassion for Neil and his entire family during his time living there.
Friends may pay their respects at the Blair & Son Funeral Home, Smiths Falls on Thursday, June 22, from 10:30 a.m. until the time of the service to celebrate his life in the Chapel at 12:30 p.m. Interment will take place at Hillcrest Cemetery. If desired, memorial contributions may be made to Parkinson Canada.

He was the first one to congratulate you on a great night and always viewed racing with a happy and positive attitude. God speed his soul to rest.
