For those of who may have missed the first go-round, Yonkers Raceway is offering a redux of the 2016 Yonkers Trot… in 2018.
Hey, you buy the premise, you buy the bit.
Saturday night’s (June 23) co-featured $44,000 Open Handicap Trot will be highlighted by the return of one Marion Marauder.
The Trotting Triple Crown winner and career earner of $2.5 million will invade Westchester for the first time since last October, which was when he finished second to Twister Bi’s in the Yonkers International Trot (Twister Bi won the event in a world record clocking).
Marion Marauder will start from Post 8 Saturday night with driver Jordan Stratton. Marion Marauder’s regular driver, Scott Zeron, will be racing at Pocono Saturday in the eliminations for the ‘Sun Stakes.’
The weekly trotting features has been carded as Race 7 on the 12-dash docket. Post time for the card will be 6:50 p.m.
Yonkers’ $44,000 Open Handicap Pace on Saturday night will find Bit Of A Legend N back at it for the first time since his win (life-best 1:49.4) in Northfield’s $200,000 Battle of Lake Erie three weeks ago.
