Stall applications for the 68th season of live harness racing at Batavia Downs, located in western New York, are now available.
The applications are available on the track’s website or in the track’s temporary entrance.
Stall applications are also available at the Western New York Harness Horsemen’s Association website or the Western New York Harness Horsemen’s office beginning Saturday (June 21).
The 2014 season at America’s oldest lighted harness track features 72 race dates. The annual summer-fall meet opens on July 23 and concludes on December 6.
Live racing will be presented on a Wednesday, Friday, Saturday night and Sunday afternoon schedule in July and August. After Labour Day (Sept. 1), Tuesday night racing will replace Sunday.
Evening post time moves to 6:35 p.m. for the upcoming season while matinee post time remains at 1:15 p.m.
Stall applications must be received by the race office by July 7. The backstretch opens for tack on July 15. Horses may begin arriving on July 17.
“It’s certainly excited times here at Batavia Downs with the renovations of our new facility in the homestretch and the return of live racing just around the corner,” said Todd Haight, director/GM of Live Racing.
