Embleton Pupils To Summerside Feature

A pair of Brian Embleton trainees will face off with the locals in the top class Sunday afternoon at Red Shores Summerside Raceway with a 1 p.m. first race post time.

Queens Or Better and Manraysonjo ship-in from Fredericton and drew Posts 4 and 5, respectively, in the $1,850 pace, which is carded as race 12 on the 13-dash card.

Mike Stevenson will drive Queens Or Better for owners David Silliphant and Daniel, Amy and Stephen Crouse of New Brunswick. Manraysonjo gets the service of driver Kenny Arsenault for owner Nancy Green of Fredericton, N.B. The Rayson Hanover gelding was a winner his last three starts at Exhibition Park Raceway in Saint John and Fredericton Raceway.

Earlier on the card, the $1,800 Open Trot will line up with Abundaspin looking to keep his perfect PEI record intact. The 13-year-old is trained and driven by Harold Shepherd for owner Mikaela Lustic of Warren Grove, and has won both his PEI starts since relocating from Ottawa. Caliban Hanover is picked as the morning line favourite for trainer-driver Ron Gass and owner Wendell MacDonald of Cornwall.

Race 9 on the card has Borden native Allison Montgomery making her first training start as she send out Muzzys Mud Puddle from Post 2 with Bradley at the lines in the $1,550 class.

The card also has a pair of two-year-olds making their pari-mutuel debuts.

Ameripan Gigolo filly Sea Anna Win has the rail in Race 2 for trainer-driver Earl Smith and owner Tim Banks of Charlottetown. Articulator colt Touch Of Thunder has the rail in Race 7 for trainer-driver Smith and owners Larry Chappell, Don and Peter Smith, and Gerald Morrissey.
