Grand River Raceway’s new guest announcer series 'From Bike To Mic' will kick off on Friday, June 22 featuring harness drivers in a new role.
The series will begin with driver Ryan Holliday making his announcing debut for the fifth race during the 'Fun & Frivolity Night' card. The 25-year-old reinsman will be accompanied by track voice Gary Guy, who will be on standby should Holliday find himself tongue-tied.
The resident of Mount Forest, Ont. is a career winner of 220 races, having won his first dash in November of 2008 at Western Fair Raceway with Out All Night, a horse he also trained. He’s currently ranked third in the Hanover Raceway dash standings and is on-point to record his first 100-win season with 51 victories thus far.
Holliday won't be the first driver to take the mic. Prince Edward Island's Nicholas Oakes has announced many races in the Maritimes. Tim Tetrick also made a special appearance in the announcer's booth last July at the Meadowlands Racetrack.
