The Meadowlands Racetrack’s second annual Wiener Dog Derby will take place this Saturday (June 22).
Close to eighty pre-registered dachshunds will be competing for the $500 grand prize in between the live horse races. Live racing will kick off at 7:15 p.m.
There will be eight qualifying heats and the top canine from each heat will advance to the final. The first qualifying heat will be at 6:45 p.m. The Wiener Dog Derby Final will take place on the racetrack after Race 8 at approximately 10:15 p.m.
