MGM Northfield Park is pleased to announce the official reopening of wagering on live and simulcast horse racing on Friday, June 19 at 11:30 a.m.
The action will kick off with Gulfstream Park at noon, followed by a full slate of the best Thoroughbred and Standardbred action from around the globe, and the opportunity to advance wager on Saturday’s Belmont Stakes. Then, on Saturday, doors will open at 11 a.m. for Belmont Stakes Day. The 152nd running of the $1.5 million Belmont Stakes is scheduled for approximately 5:42 p.m. At 6 p.m., it’ll be post time at the 'Flying Turns,' which will offer 15 races.
While MGM Northfield Park was closed, time was well spent planning and implementing extensive health and safety measures. Upon entering the racetrack, guests will notice changes throughout the facility to promote physical distancing to ensure safety and well-being of guests and the track's team. Protocols have been implemented in both buildings following the guidance from the local health department and elected officials.
Live racing will continue next week, as racing will be conducted on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Saturday evenings. Full-card simulcasting takes place daily from 11:30 a.m. until roughly midnight.
