Officials with Horse Racing New Brunswick have submitted an application for a zoning change which could potentially lead to a new location for handicappers to wager on simulcast horse racing and play video lottery terminals in Fredericton.
News of the application has come via an article by the CBC that states that city planners have recommended that the application be approved. The location in question is 444 Aberdeen Street.
The article also states that the zoning application is scheduled to be addressed in Fredericton City Hall this evening (Wednesday, June 15). The item is to be addressed by the planning and advisory committee. The meeting is open to the public and will kick off at 7 p.m.
The CBC’s article states that there is some public opposition to the proposed facility. The proposal calls for the location to be licenced as a ‘drinking establishment.’
