Grand River Honours Best Of 2012

In celebration of the highest achievements from last year’s season of harness racing, Grand River Raceway recognized the winners of the 2012 Top Performer Awards on June 10, 2013.

The 13 winners include five people and eight horses. The nation’s top dash-winning trainer and driver in 2012 are double category winners in Elora, ON. Richard Moreau and Trevor Henry received hardware for most wins and highest percentage achievements in their respective disciplines.

Ed James of S S G Stables was the top owner of 2011 at Grand River Raceway and doubles up in 2012. He also owns the Top Rookie (Oreally Oreilly) and Trotter Of The Year winner, Indiana Hall. Both horses are trained by Ian Downey. This marks the second consecutive year Indiana Hall has won top trotting honours at Grand River Raceway and The Raceway at Western Fair District.

Acceptable Risk is also a back-to-back winner for Pacer Of The Year.
