The Woodbine Entertainment Group has announced a new pacing series for four-year-olds and older, non-winners of $25,000 in 2011 (winners over $100,000 in 2010 ineligible). The Beat The Heat Pacing Series will begin on Saturday, June 25.
According to a WEG release, the series will consist of two legs for a purse of '$20,000 each.' The first leg will take place on June 25 and the second on July 2.
Twelve horses with the highest money earnings in the series will advance to the $60,000 final, which is slated to be contested July 9.
A nomination fee of $100 will be accepted until Wednesday, June 15, 2011. The purse distribution will be 50 per cent, 25 per cent, 10 per cent, seven per cent and one per cent for all remaining starters.
Envelopes must be clearly post-marked no later than the said due date or payment will not be accepted. Registered mail is recommended.
