Trot Insider has learned that the Standardbred Race Track Chaplaincy of Canada’s annual golf tournament has been cancelled for this year due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
"With the present situation, it looks as if it will be some time before public events will be held," said Chaplain Ken Carter. "So, in the interest of keeping people safe from COVID-19, after much discussion, we have decided to cancel this year’s golf tournament.
"Since this is our major fund raiser for the chaplaincy, it will be difficult to maintain our budget to help those in need. We would sincerely appreciate any donations to keep this vital ministry going."
Carter noted the golf tournament will return next year, rebooked for Sept. 15, 2021.
