The Cecil Ladner Memorial Invitational is scheduled for Saturday, June 25 at Red Shores’ Charlottetown Driving Park.
The Ladner family, who confirmed the invitational event with Red Shores’ officials this week, has supported the popular event as a series for the past 10 years. This year’s event will be staged as a one-race invitational.
The late Cecil Ladner was an original member of the Board of Directors for Harness Racing PEI and an avid supporter of harness racing. Family and friends maintain a strong connection to the industry as owners.
The Ladner Memorial will be another highlight of the June 25 program, which will also feature the Regional Driving Championship.
The Regional Driving Championship will showcase eight drivers in the Atlantic region for the right to represent Atlantic Canada at the National Driving Championship at The Raceway at Western Fair District, located in London, Ontario. Competing drivers are Jason Hughes, Marc Campbell, Walter Cheverie, Corey MacPherson, Edward Harvey, John Gerard Kennedy, Darren Crowe and Paul Langille.
