Eagle Jolt, last week’s feature-race winner, has been established as the 5-2 choice on the morning line for the Saturday night feature at Red Shores’ Charlottetown Driving Park.

The card will kick off with a 6 p.m. first-race post time.

Trained and driven by Marc Campbell, the Eagle Jolt has drawn Post 4 in a match up that will showcase some heavy hitters like the Trevor Hicken stablemates Bazillion (to be driven by Brian MacPhee) and Idealic Life (Corey MacPherson), but both are saddled with outside starting points (seven and eight, respectively).

DBS Rosco has drawn Post 1. He has made the move up in class after an impressive 1:58.2 score for owners Robbie and Wendell Shaw and Derek Folland, Summerside, PE. Kenny Arsenault will do the driving. First Art Down (Ken Murphy) and Tempo Seelster (Vince Poulton) also have the speed to pull off upsets, while Forever Paradise (Michael McGuigan) and Silverhill Shadow (Terry Gallant) will both be making their first starts of the season after strong qualifying performances.

Holy Molie Maggie is back on the track for the 2016 campaign. The seven-year-old mare will compete in Race 4 with MacPherson getting the catch-driving call from trainer-owner Jeff Holmes. Regular pilot Gary Chappell has been listed on newcomer Wedgewood. The trotter was racing at Rideau Carlton Raceway in Ottawa and is now part of the Glenn Claybourne stable of Charlottetown. Frill Seeker is also a strong contender for the triactor ticket.

In other action, Casimir Luciano will go for three in a row for trainer Ralph Sweet; Ultimatelyhandsome has received the nod for the opening leg of the Pick 5; while social media star Mozartsplace will make his first lifetime start for owner Bradford Duplisea, trainer Jackie Matheson and driver Ron Matheson.

Red Shores will carry the Kentucky Derby from the legendary Churchill Downs in Louisville, Kentucky. The Derby features 20 horses, a purse of $2 million and is often called ‘the most exciting two minutes in sports.’ Customers can watch and wager on the famous race which always takes place on the first Saturday in May and attracts approximately 155,000 people.
