A new racing schedule and a 10 per cent purse increase will greet horsepeople and patrons as Western Fair Raceway kicks off its spring racing meet tonight
.
Purses were raised 10 per cent across the board due to an increase of approximately nine per cent in average daily handle during the recently-concluded winter meet.
For the month of May, the London, Ont. track will race on Wednesday and Friday evenings, with a 7:05 p.m. first-race post time.
Starting next week every race night will feature stakes action culminating with the track’s signature event, the Molson Pace, on Friday, May 28.
