Equestrian Canada (EC) is pleased to inform the Canadian equestrian community that Horse Day 2017 is taking place June 3, 2017.

This year will mark the ninth anniversary of Horse Day, which was created to raise public awareness and promote the beloved horse. Across the country, events and celebrations will take place on June 3 to allow Canadians of all ages and experience levels to honour, discover and explore the equestrian world.

This year’s Horse Day will be a special year for the celebration of the horse, as 2017 also marks Canada’s 150th anniversary, as well as the 250th anniversary of horse racing in Canada.

For many Canadians, Horse Day is the chance to get up close and personal with a horse for the first time. Horse Day is also the perfect opportunity to acknowledge the important contributions made by horses in our nation's heritage and how people of all ages and experience levels can continue to enjoy horses in sport and leisure.

Make Horse Day part of your year of celebration in 2017. There are many ways to jump in and get involved in Horse Day 2017. Find a Horse Day 2017 event near you. Want to host a Horse Day event? Register your event with EC.

Encourage youth between the ages of 3 and 16 to enter the Horse Day 2017 National Drawing Contest for the chance to win exciting prizes!
