Bauder Discusses Sectionline Aqua

Sectionline Aqua, a three-year-old daughter of Major In Art out of Aquatic Yankee, will look to extend her winning streak to four on Friday, May 30 at Scioto Downs.

Sectionline Aqua was bred and is owned by Harold Lee Bauder, Michael Dixon and Harold Bauder of Ohio. She’s trained by Steve Bauder of Illinois.

The filly’s talent and ability is probably of no surprise to her owners. Her dam, Aquatic Yankee, took a mark of 1.50.3 and made over $750,000. She has also produced a list of winners.

The filly has returned sharp in her sophomore year. With only six starts on her card, she has already tallied four wins, a second and a bankroll of $27,390.

Sectionline Aqua has been doing her work from off the pace this year. Her trainer, Steve said “she was a little hot,” adding that “She has more gate speed, but I wanted her to learn how to race.”

He also stated, “She is racing very well this way, no sense changing it.”

Bauder took over the training duties for his uncle and cousin when the filly was coming back after her freshman year.

It looks like he’s succeeding. Sectionline Aqua has set a new lifetime best of 1.54 and hasn’t missed a purse cheque yet.

Bauder added that “She’s a great filly to work around and has a great attitude,” and later stated that, “We are all very pleased!”

Sectionline Aqua will race on Friday, May (30) in Race 2 and will start from Post 1. She will be driven by 2013 dash title winner Ronnie Wrenn Jr.

Post time for the 13-race card is 6:30. The Friday night card will also feature a Filly and Mare Open Trot, Filly and Mare Open Pace and a Horses and Geldings Open Trot each with a purse of $20,000.
