Trot Insider has learned that pacing broodmare Lingerie (pictured above on the inside) has passed away at the age of 38.

Campaigned during her racing days by Van Stables of Ottawa, Ont., Lingerie (Abercrombie - Juanita Gal) posted a 13-13-14 summary in her 81-race career. She took her mark of 1:56.4 in stakes action at The Meadows as a three-year-old, retiring after her five-year-old season with more than $241,000 in earnings.

Lingerie began a broodmare career in the 1990s, and was eventually obtained by Robert McIntosh Stables Inc. of Windsor, Ont. Here, she produced her most notable offspring, multiple stakes winner and near millionaire Make It Brief p,4,1:49.1s ($998,309). All told, 14 of 15 foals from Lingerie made it to the races, and all 14 were race winners. Her starters averaged $231,969 in earnings, accounting for more than $3.2 million in total earnings, with two -- Make It Brief and Nighttime Magic -- taking sub-1:50 records.

At the age of 38, Lingerie was living out her retirement years at the farm of Bob McIntosh, who co-owned the mare with Al McIntosh Holdings Inc. of Leamington, Ont. at the time of her passing.
