The I Love Canadian Harness Racing's May handicapping contest, the 2013 Molson Pace Match Up is now open!
The 2013 edition of the Molson Pace, featuring a $150,000 purse goes postward this Friday, May 31 and you can bet all eyes will be on two time defending champion Foiled Again. The nine-year-old pacer, who has won 68 races and over $4.8 million during his illustrious career will be looking to make it a three peat in The Raceway at Western Fair’s signature event. Foiled Again became the sport’s richest pacer of all-time following his victory in last year’s edition of the Canadian Pacing Derby on September 1 at Mohawk Racetrack.
Getting right into the thick of Molson Pace action, the Fan Club’s free May Handicapping contest is the Molson Pace Match Up. Contestants will be given a series of two horse match-ups from the race card on Molson Pace night and must select the horse that will finish in higher placing. The contestant that determines the most correct match-ups will be declared the winner. Should either horse in a match-up be scratched, that particular match-up will not be counted toward any contestant’s final total.
The contest will open for entries at 12:00 p.m. on Wednesday, May 29, 2013 and will close for entries at 6:30 p.m. (EST) on Friday, May 31, 2013. The winner will be the contestant that determines the most correct match-ups (see Terms and Conditions for more details). In the event of a tie, the winner will be selected by blind draw.
The contest winner will receive an I Love Canadian Harness Racing Prize Pack, which includes $50 worth of Fan Club swag and a photo of this year’s Molson Pace winner. Click here to enter!
1. The Standardbred Canada (SC) May Handicapping Challenge will be conducted from Wednesday, May 29, 2013 to Friday, May 31, 2013, with entry open until 6:30 PM EST on Friday, May 31. No purchase is necessary. There is no cost to register. Contest is open to anyone who is 18 years of age or older as of the date of registration, is an I Love Canadian Harness Racing Fan Club member and has Internet access at time of registration. The contest is void in whole where prohibited by law.
2. The contest will close for entries at 6:30 PM on Friday, May 31, 2013. The winner will be the contestant who determines the most correct match-ups. In the
event of a tie, the winner will be determined by blind draw.
3. Should either horse (or both) in a match-up be scratched, that particular match-up will not be counted toward any contestant’s final total.
4. Winner will be contacted via e-mail at the e-mail address or phone number provided on the form.
5. Submissions with incomplete, bogus or invalid names and/or e-mail addresses
will not be accepted.
6. Only one entry will be accepted per individual and one per e-mail address.
Multiple entries will result in immediate disqualification. SC reserves the right to disqualify any contestant which SC believes has submitted more than one entry.
7. Employees, Directors and immediate family who reside at the same residence,
of Standardbred Canada employees or any provincial racing commission employees are not eligible for this contest.
8. No faxed, mailed, electronically mailed, or phoned-in entries are allowed.
9. SC assumes no responsibility for lost, late, misdirected, ineligible or mutilated entries. SC is not responsible for lost, interrupted or unavailable hardware or software or telephone transmission or technical failures, garbled or jumbled transmission or other errors of any kind, whether human, mechanical, or
electronic. Once submitted, entries become the sole property of SC and will not
be returned.
10. SC reserves the sole right to interpret all questions and conditions in regard to this contest.
11. Anything not covered in these rules will be ruled on by the management of
SC and their decision will be final and binding. 12. Contestants, by entering the contest, agree to be bound by the above rules and regulations.
