A farm tour sponsored by the Agriculture and New York State Horse Breeding Development Fund and hosted by the Harness Horse Breeders of New York State will be held for the general public.

The tour will focus on harness horse breeding and racing. The tour will begin at the Goshen Historic Track at 10 a.m. on June 14. Attendees will have the opportunity to see horses training and to learn about their schedules as well as their daily care. This will also provide an opportunity to observe some up and coming New York Sire Stakes contenders.

After visiting the Goshen Historic Track, the group will travel to Cameo Hills Farm to visit the mares and foals and learn about horse care on the farm. The visit to Cameo Hills will include a picnic lunch along with a hay ride and plenty of photo opportunities.

The tour members will also hear about how the harness racing industry supports the state economy by providing jobs and materials for the horse's care. The tour will wrap up with questions and discussions about how to become involved in the horse industry.

After visiting Cameo Hills all are welcome to return to the Goshen Museum and Hall of Fame.

Handout information about Standardbred racing will be available.

Those who are interested should call the Harness Horse Breeders of New York State at 518-785-5858 or email [email protected] to register.

There is no fee but registration is required for lunch orders.
