The Meadowlands Racetrack is hosting its 2nd annual Battle for the Best Burger on Saturday, June 10. The contest offers a $1,500 grand prize with $1,000 for second-place and $500 for third.
This free event runs from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. and fans are encouraged to come out and taste some of the best local burgers. Two lucky fans will win a spot at the Judging Table and help determine the top three burgers.
South + Pine American Eatery of Morristown, New Jersey took the grand prize in the 2016 Burger Battle and is back to defend its title this year.
Area restaurants and professional cooks who think they have the best burger in town are invited to register to participate by visiting the sign-up page. Registration deadline is Saturday, June 3 and is limited to the first 10 entrants. There is a $100 registration fee that must be paid prior to the start of cooking.
In addition to the Burger Battle, the Meadowlands Racetrack is also hosting the Spring Beer Festival in the Backyard. Tickets are $75 for VIP and $35 for General Admission. Tickets can be purchased here.
Fans can also watch and wager on the Belmont Stakes and live harness racing action that kicks off at 7:15 p.m.
