Great Forecast For Giddy Up!

Racing conditions for this Sunday’s Giddy Up & Gallop 5K Fun Run and One Lap Kids Run are looking great!

The weather gods appear to be cooperating with a forecast of sunny skies, a high of 23 degrees, and the track is listed as fast!

If you haven’t registered online and still wish to run, race-day registration is available, starting at 9 a.m. and closing at 9:45 a.m. The 5K is $40 and the kids’ one lap race is $20; and proceeds benefit Friends of We Care who fund summer camp programs for kids who are physically challenged.

Family, friends and racing fans are all welcome to come out and cheer on the runners. The races will be shown on the infield Jumbotron and Shannon Ella from KX 94.7 New Country FM will be on hand with the Event Cruiser.

The field for the 5K is very competitive and includes drivers Billy Davis Jr., Jonathan Drury, Sylvain Filion, Jody Jamieson, along with trainers Casie Coleman, Steve Coulter, Darryl Langstone and Ted Nadhazi.

Here is the schedule for the Event:

• 9:a.m – 10:15 a.m. -- Registration & Race Number pick up

• 10:00 a.m. -- Opening ceremonies

• 10:10 a.m. -- Warm Up

• 10:20 a.m. -- Mascot Race (50 metres)

• 10:30 a.m. -- Kids One Lap Run

• 10:45 a.m. -- 5K Fun Run

• 10:30 – 12:30 -- BBQ (complimentary for all runners)

• 11:30 a.m. -- Award presentations

There will be awards and prizes for the winner in each category, along with prize draws for all of the runners. There will also be a raffle available for everyone with some great golf packages as the prize draws.
