The Maritime Breeders Association is pleased to announce that Metro Home Building Centre of Charlottetown, P.E.I. and Truro Home Building Centres of Bible Hill, N.S. have become title sponsors of its stakes program for two- and three-year-old horses.
Beginning in 2021, the stakes program will be named the Home Hardware Maritime Breeders Stake and will be held on the following dates:

September 9 at Red Shores Racetrack and Casino at the Charlottetown Driving Park for two-and three-year-old trotters.

October 17 for two-year-old colt and filly pacers at Truro Raceway

October 30 at Red Shores Racetrack and Casino at the Charlottetown Driving Park for three-year-old colt and filly pacers.
“On behalf of the Maritime Breeders Association, I would like to thank Peter Smith of Metro Home Building Centre, Charlottetown, PE and Arnold Hagen of Truro Home Building Centres, Bible Hill, NS for agreeing to become the title sponsors of the Maritime Breeders Stake for a three-year period,” said Earl Watts, Chair of the Maritime Breeders Association. “Their contribution of $25,000 per year will raise the stake’s purses and is a significant boost for the Standardbred breeding and racing sector in this region.”
