Betting Bonanza At Pompano Finale

Pompano Park wraps up a record-breaking season on Sunday (May 2) with a $100,000 guaranteed pool on the track's Pick-5 offering and two other mandatory payouts, as well.

The lofty Pick-5 guarantee is a result of a $23,739.47 carryover as that wagering option went unsolved on last Tuesday's racing program, despite the 9-5 favourite winning the final leg. Sunday's Pick-5 begins with the opening race on a blockbuster 13-race pari-mutuel program.

Lofty pools are also expected on the track's Pick-6, which has a carryover of $4,865.46, even though the last four legs of that offering were won by horses 2-1 or less. The Pick-6 also has a mandatory payout for Sunday.

The Super Hi-5 will close out the season's festivities with a $20,234.33 carryover and a "must pay," as well. That pool could very well reach $100,000 or more.

Besides these mandatory payouts, Pompano Park will also offer a pair of Pick-4 wagers, each with a $20,000 guaranteed pool and featuring that "better-for-the-bettor" friendly 12 per cent takeout — the lowest in the industry.

Post time for the Sunday program is set for 7:20 p.m.
