Entries are now being accepted for the Tattersalls Summer Mixed Sale, to be held at the Meadowlands on Sunday, July 14.
Long known as a sale of quality racehorses, it will feature 2-year-olds that are just getting started as well as 3-year-olds and older horses.
The sale will add an exclamation point to one of the biggest weekends of the year at the Meadowlands. It follows a night of racing that is highlighted by the Meadowlands Pace Final and seven other major stakes, including the Stanley Dancer Memorial, Hambletonian Maturity, Del Miller and Mistletoe Shalee.
“The Meadowlands takes center stage that weekend, and this sale always draws a big crowd of buyers who come in for both the racing and the sale,” said Tattersalls manager David Reid.
“For sellers, the Summer Mixed offers a chance to reduce inventory and raise capital before fall yearling purchases. And with the nonstop demand for racehorses in every jurisdiction, if you bring a standout horse to this sale, you’ll likely make more than you would ever expect.”
Last year’s Tattersalls Summer Mixed was up in both average and gross, with receipts of $3.1-million adding up to a 24 percent increase from the previous year.
